Basset Fact Hound
The basset fact hound is seen in many hunting photo collections and usually include the puppies.
Heavy-boned, the dog weighs more than you would expect having a look at it. An adult dog weighs 40-60 pounds. The distinguishing features of these cut dogs are their long velvety ears and sad eyes. The dog carries its tail above the line of the back.

Basset Fact Hound -
photo, puppies
This family of dogs originated in France in the 1500s. It is a scent-trailing breed that was developed by French nobility to hunt small game. The dog’s short legs and a sturdy body make the Basset especially useful in dense terrain. Sometimes, the dog is compared to a Bloodhound on short legs. The basset fact hound is seen in many hunting photo collections and usually include the puppies.
